Experienced Consultant in Plastics and Polymers Industry
Dr Norman Keane is a consultant in R&D management practice in the plastics and polymers industry. Most recently he was Director of Innovation for Ingevity UK where he set up a new polymer application development & innovation centre. His technical expertise encompasses bioplastics, polyurethanes, rubber & latex technology, protective gloves and the use of rubber in mining.
Norman’s successful career has included international assignments in Belgium, Malaysia and the United States with the following blue chip companies; ICI, Weir Group, Elementis and Ansell.
Norman is currently a visiting researcher in the Dept of Pure and Applied Chemistry at Strathclyde University.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), he is a member of the Royal Society’s ‘Green Carbon for the Chemical Industry’ working group which publishes its report in the spring of 2024, and he’s a member of the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) Materials Committee.
